Athentikos

Athentikos is an independent non-profit film production organization. We produce films to inspire people through the art of story. After watching our films, people have asked how they can get involved. The following list highlights organizations making a difference in Guatemala & Street Youth.

The Strategy of Transformation

The Strategy of Transformation (Abbreviated EdT in Spanish), is the name given to a strategic partnership between the Center for Transforming Mission and Christian Reformed World Missions. The EdT develops communities of grassroots leaders to serve high-risk youth and families in hard places. While the EdT is based out of Guatemala City and has the bulk of it’s work there, it also nurtures the formation of communities of leaders in 5 other countries scattered throughout Central America and the Caribbean.

At Risk No More

At Risk No More (ARNM) is committed to bring God’s love and justice to children at risk by providing a community filled with unconditional love and forgiveness.  ARNM seeks to create ways for these desperate children to receive God’s healing and wholeness through Rescue, Refuge, and Released based ministry initiatives.   ARNM seeks to develop partnerships with churches and other organizations in order to effectively minister to these desperate children.

Lemonade International

Lemonade International is a US-based non-profit community development organization that works in partnership with local Guatemalan leaders to educate and empower people in the largest urban slum in Central America – La Limonada in Guatemala City.

Christian Reformed World Missions

Christian Reformed World Missions supports over 200 long-term and short-term missionaries located in over 20 countries around the world. Through partnerships, their work extends to over 30 countries. CRWM is deeply committed to making a difference in Guatemala.

Bethany Christian Services

Bethany Christian Services is the nation’s largest adoption agency, and we also care for women facing unplanned pregnancies and orphans living on five continents. We are called to care for children of all ages and in all stages of life. We serve children at conception by counseling women with unplanned pregnancies and by providing frozen embryos a chance for a full life through our embryo adoption program. Our commitment extends to children and teens who are living in foster care or in orphanages—children who need a “forever family.”

Dry Bones

Dry Bones staff and volunteers are committed to serving the large population of homeless teens and young adults living in downtown Denver. The youth who live on the streets of Denver range in age from 12 into their mid-twenties. Dry Bones connects these young people with resources, nutrition, entertainment, and new friends.

Ron Ruthruff

Ron Ruthruff has served homeless and street involved youth and families For the past twenty six years in Seattle, Washington, providing case management services, designing programs and educating the community on the issues that impact those that are labeled the least in our neighborhoods.

Plywood People

Plywood People is an innovative community addressing social needs. We hope to inspire conversation between the privileged and impoverished through communal places, social experiments and awareness campaigns.

Compassion International

Compassion International exists as a Christian child advocacy ministry that releases children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty and enables them to become responsible, fulfilled Christian adults.
